The American Chamber of Commerce in Nepal (AmCham) and the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) have forged an agreement to collaboratively enhance the business environment between Nepal and the United States.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between AmCham and the CNI to enhance US investment and cooperation in Nepal. Rajesh Kumar Agarwal, president of the CNI, and Nirmalkaji Shrestha, president of the AmCham, signed the MoU at a function held at the CNI secretariat on Tuesday.
Shrestha said that cooperation with the CNI will work effectively to develop the country’s economy by promoting American investments. Agarwal said, “This collaboration will act as a bridge to connect Nepal and America commercially.”
According to this agreement, the two organisations will act as a point of contact between Nepalis and American entrepreneurs, provide investment information to American investors willing to invest in Nepal, cooperate in advocating policy reforms to meet mutual objectives and conduct strategic activities to increase American investment in Nepal.
